B-17 Crash North of Flagstaff on March 5 1943
Five men were killed when the B-17 flew into Mt. Elden at
approximately 1:45am on March 5, 1943. The aircraft was stationed at
Blythe Army Air Base and was on a training flight.
The wreck site today is easily accessible. All that remains at the crash
site are the main landing gears and small scattered debris..
